FutureYou has launched the FutureYou Foundation, an initiative which is closely aligned to one of the Company’s five core values: ‘For the greater good’. As such the move focuses on sharing knowledge to make a difference.
“At FutureYou we are passionate about our purpose and values, and we’ve created the FutureYou Foundation not only as a way to give back, but to also connect with our ‘why’ – the power to connect without limitation,” Simon Meyer, CEO and Founder of FutureYou said. “Through the Foundation and its partners, we have already seen the positive difference we can make in the Australian community. Everyone has a ‘future you’; it’s often just a matter of discovering it.”
Close to six months in the making, the FutureYou Foundation has paired 15 FutureYou employees with young mentees, workshops and training programmes are underway and various fundraising activities have also taken place. The first not-for-profit FutureYou Foundation partners have also been selected and are Go Foundation and Charity Bounce.
Founded by AFL legends Adam Goodes and Michael O’Loughlin, Go Foundation creates opportunities for young indigenous youth through education. Through various fundraising initiatives, FutureYou is contributing to one of the organisation’s core scholarship programmes.
Charity Bounce exists to inspire positive change and overcome disadvantage for individuals and communities, with a focus on Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders and culturally diverse communities, including newly arrived refugees. FutureYou partners with Charity Bounce to share business connections for employment opportunities and volunteers time through quarterly training workshops, monthly one-on-one mentoring, bi-annual inspirational sessions and hosting fundraising functions.
Ian Heininger, CEO of Charity Bounce believes the partnership with FutureYou has “enabled us to set up young people with amazing mentors committed to seeing them succeed in their careers as well as in their lives. FutureYou brings expertise in the areas of pre-employment, resume, and interview skills as well as career development pathways that will give these young people every opportunity to succeed in building strong careers and becoming effective leaders in business and their community.”
The next few months will see FutureYou staff running the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge and raising funds for Go Foundation, as well as hosting an event for Charity Bounce mentees and FutureYou mentors to focus on inspiring stories, connecting and their future.
