LinkedIn has announced the appointment of Matt Tindale as its Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand, effective July 1, 2017. With this new appointment, Matt will have a dual role and continue to serve as Head of Enterprise for LinkedIn Marketing Solutions in the Asia Pacific region.
Matt will succeed Cliff Rosenberg who joined LinkedIn more than seven years ago to launch its operations in Australia and New Zealand in 2009. As “Employee No. 1”, Cliff built the team from scratch and contributed to its strong member and business growth. Notably, under his leadership, LinkedIn’s member base in Australia grew from one million members in 2009 to over eight million members currently, and the company now has 280 staff across its Sydney and Melbourne offices to serve members and customers.
Matt is a senior executive with a solid track record in leading businesses by driving growth and building high performance teams. He joined LinkedIn in 2013 as Head of LinkedIn’s Marketing Solutions business for Australia and New Zealand. Over the last four years, the marketing solutions business in Australia has grown 137% under his leadership. In 2016, he took on a newly-created regional role as Head of Enterprise, Asia Pacific for Marketing Solutions and has been instrumental in expanding this business. He has been an active contributor to the “LinkedIn for Good” initiative that supports charitable causes and is an advocate for diversity and inclusion within LinkedIn and the industry.
Speaking about his appointment, Matt Tindale said, “I am excited about the opportunity ahead of us to continue to grow LinkedIn’s presence and create value for our members and customers. Australia and New Zealand has been a strong contributor to LinkedIn globally and we will continue to punch above our weight.
“Our business in Australia and New Zealand is one of the strongest for LinkedIn globally, with Cliff at the helm over the last seven years,” said Olivier Legrand, Managing Director of LinkedIn, APAC. “Cliff was also instrumental in building and keeping alive an exceptional culture in our Sydney and Melbourne office, one that continues to inspire our employees to live and breathe our mission. His leadership took us to where we are today, and will be foundational as we continue to chart a path towards our vision of creating economic opportunities for every member of the global workforce, including those in Australia and New Zealand. We wish him well for the future.”
“My tour of duty at LinkedIn has been incredible,” said Cliff Rosenberg. “I have had the opportunity of a lifetime to build LinkedIn’s business from the ground up, work with outstanding talent and see first-hand how we are transforming the industry and adding value to people’s professional lives. With the business fundamentally strong and in good hands, I am excited about my next adventure as an Advisor, Investor and Director with Public companies and helping Tech Start-ups realise their full potential.”
Cliff currently serves on the board of several organisations, including Non-Executive Director for ASX listed Afterpay, Pureprofile and Nearmap.
